Iron on interfacing

Hi everyone. I went to Joann's and purchased my fabric for my bag. I am using home decorating fabric which is sturdy in itself. But wondering if I should use interfacing to make it stronger??? Sturdier??? Any suggestions? I have never made a bag before and want it to hold up. Thanks!!
